"Doug Kiracofe offered the class called Building A Resume That Works, and I was the only one to attend.  It was in January of 2011 and was an extremely valuable class to take.  I had my computer with me and worked on it after his presentation.  I also received a copy of his presentation for further review as I redid my resume after the class.  It worked out great as I had an interview after the revision and was told that one of the reasons for the interview was my resume and how it was formatted.  I got the job and even though it was just a contract position, it lasted for 8 months.  The class was great

While the total number of PDUs for a Project Management professional has not changed, PMI has made noteworthy changes to the PDU process:

To report PDUs, you select Education or Giving Back:

“Giving Back” refers to activities that enable you to share and apply your knowledge and skills as a means to contribute to and help build the profession. The maximum number of total PDUs to be earned in Giving Back has decreased. Within Giving Back, you can report Working as a Professional. The total number of PDUs to be earned in “Working as a Professional” has decreased.

“Education” refers to learning activities that allow you to broaden your knowledge in one of the PMI Talent Triangle skill areas: Technical, Leadership, or Strategic and Business Management.

Technical Project Management: Knowledge, skills and behaviors related to specific domains of Project, Program and Portfolio Management.

Leadership: Knowledge, skills and behaviors specific to leadership-oriented, cross-cutting skills that help an organization achieve its business goals.

Business and Strategic: Knowledge of and expertise in the industry or organization that enhances performance and better delivers business outcomes.

A quick dashboard showing you your status, PDU’s remaining to renew and number of days until renewal.


Preloaded PDUs for PMP sponsored trainings. To report attending a PMP sponsored training online, enter in the ID number and the system preloads the number of PDUs to claim and the Talent Triangle areas. In the example below, the PMI event was 0.50 Technical and 0.50 Strategic.

MS Project: Regaining Control of Your Schedule (4 Technical PDUs)
Schedule management can be difficult if you don’t know the proper control techniques! This workshop provides a method for making it easier than ever! Students will discover how to find tasks that need updating, how to visually represent where tasks are slipping beyond baseline, how to find what has changed in the schedule, how to work with multiple schedules and manage interdependencies between them, how to set up a Master Schedule, and how to quickly provide executives with a high-level picture of the project. Topics are presented through the use of Views, Fields, Tables, Groups, Filters, and Formulas. Schedule set up will also be demonstrated! Students are should bring a laptop (with Project installed), schedules, pencils, and paper to this workshop.
